May blessing abound!

I'm Teresa and I am so happy to have you join us in our mission in being Sarah's Daughters!

My dear friend Cynthia and I were chatting one day online about how much a struggle it is to be a Christian wife in today's society.  There are so many things to get in the way from what God has purposed us to do. It is so easy to lose sight and never even realize we are purposed. I am thankful that I have an obedient friend (Cynthia) that said quickly "Let's start a group so women can be encouraged and supported." That is how Sarah's Daughters was birthed.

Sarah actually had no daughters in her lifetime but we, as obedient women in God through our faith, become her daughters. Unfortunately we are like Eve in the sense we are out of the Paradise Garden and in an environment that is not welcoming God or His principles. There are challenges that each one of us face in our relationships.  I want to pray that we become women that act in faith when responding to those challenges as did Sarah when God revealed Himself.

My husband Stacey and I married on September 22, 1990.  It is one of the happiest days of my life alongside the births of our four children: Jael, Adia, Kiah, and Zavi.  With every year we have gone through challenges and uncovered issues.  I imagine that if we live long enough we will uncover many more. I am happy to say that the Lord has been with us and has never left us.  Even in our dark seasons I am glad we chose to hold tightly to God and let Him lead us out.  I don't know what may happen in our future but I do know that I won't let go of God.  And I am so grateful that He won't let go of me! He has proven to me time and time again that He loves us and is going to take care of us.

I am still learning what God has purposed for me.  I do feel that there are seasons and currently I am in the season of being home to take care of my husband and children.  It is a wonderful season and although I have my moments, I would not have it any other way.  I was at one time a working mother so I know the challenges there. Being a stay at home mom is difficult as well.  Neither is easy and when faced with the choice of what to do, I can only recommend that you do what I did: Pray!  I prayed for God to lead me to provide what was needed for my family at the time. In God's time I am sure my season will change and I believe God will reveal the way for me to fulfill it. In the meantime I just want to be obedient.

Marriage is one of God's sweet gifts that He has blessed us with. I strongly believe the gift was given to show us love in all it's facets. It parallel how Jesus, the Groom so loved His Bride, the Church. Before I was married I wrote these lyrics to express my feelings as a Bride and wanted to share them because it still relates to how I feel being a Wife.

THE BRIDE SONG

His Word is the sweetest kiss and will truly lift me on the clouds.

He is the one I miss, His true loving gift that shall abound.

All that have heard have been drawn to Love,

All that will hear shall rise up above.

For My Beloved

Is  King of the Kings, Stronger than the strong

I will wait for Him, my heart tell me so. Yes He lives within, How I love Him so.

My soul has called only Him

Shining like a perfect gem.   Finally we'll share the love we've yearned.

The one I love is better than wine.

As the bride I'll be  A rose without thorns, soft petals untouched,

Although mocked and scorned for His love I must. Yet He protects me, His Word tells me so.

together we'll be, How I love Him so.

Ladies,

Love your husbands and let that love reign in your marriage.

May God keep your marriage and bless each day in it,

Teresa

Matthew 19:6, NKJV

Therefore they are no longer two, but one flesh.  Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.
